In this 3 hours workshop we shall cover:
︎ A brief overview of the anatomy & physiology related to breathing
︎The connection of the respiratory system with the nervous system
︎ Learn the basics of correct breathing
︎ Explore some techniques of prānāyāma and some kriyas (cleansing techniques)
︎Some of the common errors that occur when performing prānāyāma
︎A brief meditation using the breath as a focus for turning inward.
Andy incorporates his multi disciplinary background with the latest scientific research to create a form of traditional hatha yoga with a modern twist.
Soma™ Yoga is founded on the premise that the ‘practises’ of yoga can lead to the ‘state’ of yoga, and everything in which we engage is for the purpose of awakening to the true nature of reality and then integrating that experiential realisation into our daily lives. This includes all aspects of Hatha Yoga including asana (the postures) in which we look to release the grip of the small ego and calm the mind in order to open ourselves to the possibility of revelation.
