Awakening? WTF with Rick Smith

  • Open Hearts Lisboa R. do Diário de Notícias 59 Lisboa Portugal (map)

Awakening can be like shaking up a snow globe in our consciousness.

How do we navigate the often contradictory and overwhelming experiences that can come as we realize that there is more to Life than meets the eye?

How do we stay kind to ourselves in the midst of the challenges?

This workshop will not give you all the answers! But it will provide a lens, with humor, insight, and tenderness, for welcoming ourselves in the midst of the highs and lows that often occur as we expand outside of our comfort zone into the new and unknown.

The event will be interactive, with lots of opportunities to connect with others.

Some topics we will explore in the workshop:

  • What does it mean to deserve love? Can love be earned?

  • Is it possible to have a noisy head and still be present?

  • What might happen if we open the door to let in the noises in our heads, serve them tea and make friends with them?

  • Is it possible to have the consistent experience of not being enough, and still be consistently happy?

Bring your open heart, your curious heart, your shy heart. All hearts are welcome.

This stand-alone workshop will also serve as an introduction to the 1 day Awakened leadership on 15 July 2023 in Open Hearts.

About Rick:

Rick Smith has spoken to over 100,000 people on 5 continents on topics ranging from presentation to presence.

His best-selling book Conscious Classroom Management has now sold over a quarter million copies, and continues to touch the lives of teachers and their students.

Through years of working in education, Rick discovered simple principles for connection, aliveness, and kindness.

The same internal muscle that allows a teacher to stay calm in a chaotic classroom, and that allows her to see the best in her students, regardless of what they look or act like, is the same muscle that allows us to awaken, to lead, to stand up, and to move mountains in the world.

These principles and approaches are at the core in Rick’s current workshops and retreats. When he teaches and facilitates, he engages participants with humor, movement, and connection, offering practical ways for them to know and love themselves, and remember their own innocence, wholeness, and “enough-ness,” especially in all the tight corners of their inner and outer worlds.
